About Ginny B

Ginny Bartholomew was the second pseudonym I chose when I was in university looking to write full time. She replaced Maggie Jeane and was much more creative. She was the one who finished our first draft of a Harlequin Silhouette (romantic mystery) back when Maggie was still trying to figure out manuscript formatting, and Ginny's still with me, still creating her worlds and characters and still plotting the next big novel.

Why am I talking about my own pseudonym in the third person? Well, odd - or schizophrenic - as it may seem, Ginny is real to me, as is Maggie, and about a hundred other characters. Ginny and Maggie are both facets of my own personality and giving them names is just my way of dealing with myself. It's kind of like being in a small, crowded room and needing to get the attention of someone specific. Shouting their name is the only way to do that.

Ginny was also my online personality while I was at university, stalking the eHQ boards for moral and technical support for my novels. She basically was me for the whole three years I was earning my Bachelors degree. xD She still would be me but for the fact that someone found out my real name and spread the word. Suddenly they stopped calling me Ginny and started calling me Emma instead.

About Emma

There's not a whole lot to tell, beyond the fact that I rarely leave the house and I live in bed. No, it's not because I'm a couch potato - or even a bed potato - though sometimes I do feel rather like a vegetable. It's because I have a long-term, severe illness called Myalgic Encephalopathy, which causes chronic fatigue (hah, tie lead weights to all your limbs, leave them tied to your limbs for 8 years, and then tell me it's fatigue) as well as joint, muscle and nervous pain, migraines, irritable bowel symptoms (just what you wanted to hear xD) and a multitude of other symptoms - oh, right, not forgetting the brainsapping inability to focus, concentrate, or remember anything.

In short, I'm an agonised goldfish with a wheelchair. I'm not a lazy person, so having so much time on my hands has been difficult, but it has given me the chance to learn many new skills and make loads of new friends. I'm also a very arty person, so most of the stuff I do has something creative behind it. I just can't sit here and twiddle my thumbs, as twiddlish as they are. XD

Oh and by the way, I like girly colours now. Before I became so ill, I really didn't like anything girly at all. Pink was a big no-no, as was lilac, skirts, you name it. Yet I've slowly turned from a scowling tomboy into a woman (I prefer to be called girl, ironically) who fights for her right to be feminine. My dream guy is someone, built like a tank, who would come in and sweep me off my feet and take care of me (don't suppose Vin Diesel's available, is he? T_T)

At any rate, some of you may remember the old version of this site, which I still really like (the layout anyway XD) but I lost access to the server and haven't seen the friend who gave me the space in months; I decided it was high time I sort my website out, and I was playing around, so here we are. ^-^ Have fun!
