News & Updates

I lost net access for nearly a month so I had loads of time on my hands and wound up making six layouts. I've also added a new page to show off my dolls - no adoptables yet but there may be some in the future. ^^
I know, I know, I'm meant to be working on the other pages first, right? =P Meh, I like pixelling and layouts more than writing these days. *shifty eyes* Anyway... I'll work on them eventually. Right? xD

I fixed and updated Niet's petpage finally and plan to submit it for TNO's site spotlight. All the fanart of him - to this point - is up there now. ^__^ I need to fix Puff's page though, it still doesn't work in Firefox, but I think I've figured out why - it's the padding, for the most part, but also you can't let a div overlap itself like you can with Internet Explorer if there's more text than you've allowed space for - you have to manually fix the height, or the background doesn't repeat properly... anyway, it's a bit complicated, and I don't get it, but there you go. I guess that's what comes from teaching yourself how to code. >D Anyway, hopefully that means that as soon as I can find the time, I can fix it, but I'm not sure what the problem is with Vashi's.

I copied Coding School lessons one to three to the website and I'm working on lesson 4 tomorrow, ready to upload over the weekend. I've decided to break it down even more because the lessons were kind of big and confusing.
I also added a couple of new adoptables to my toy box (aren't they so cute? *pokes them*), edited some of the links in my navbar and updated some parts of the site, but I still need have a bunch of pages missing. =P

I uploaded the site today (finally XD) and did a major overhaul of my Application Guide. It's shorter, neater, and has pretty screenies, yay!
I also added my pixels page, that looks quite pretty now. And started my Book of Inspiration - it only has four quotes on it for now (from the huge image at the top of your screen) but it's a start. ^__^ I swear, I'll get my notebook out soon and copy some of my favourite quotes and poems! In the meantime, check this out.

Well I spent over four hours searching for a particular site that I still haven't found. You see, while I was searching for doll bases I stumbled across a pixel artist who offers adoptable bead curtains like the one I'm using as a clickable divider. I've never seen anything like it before, so I wanted to study it before attempting to make my own (with full intentions of crediting the original artist, obviously, since this is not my own idea), but I still haven't managed to find the artist. Therefore, please, if you know who I'm talking about, email me a link to his/her website, thank you.
I am extremely proud of the bead curtain I drew, however. It's completely my own work! ^o^ How neat is that? XD

Well here it is, the redone version of the website I've been updating (hah) for the last year. I was just messing around with an art piece because I've wanted to do an Aethereality layout for ages but never quite figured out what to do with it. I can't get over how girly this layout is, or that I adore it. ^__^
Of course, it didn't just happen. It was a lot of hard work and about twelve hours. That's not including the false start I had about a week before this layout came together (I liked the graphics but I hadn't thought enough ahead to the coding, and wound up scrapping it to start from scratch - though I did use the same image, and the same kind of 'feel').
At least half the time was spent chasing down examples of certain pixels and so on because I had things in mind for the navigation buttons but didn't know how to draw them. All things considered, I haven't done too badly. Of course, I haven't checked it in Firefox yet, but so far it works perfectly in Internet Explorer. It's suitable for the lower 800x600 resolution (I always make sure of that, obviously) and with two versions for navigation it's going to be very difficult to get lost (hmmm). I know some stuff won't work in other browsers regardless (the dropshadow filter and custom scrolls, to start). It's also entirely likely that as soon as I upload this site to the 'net, I won't be able to actually see the big banner image (that seems to happen frequently... in fact, 99% of the layouts I upload no longer display properly for me as soon as the transfer is complete... but at least I have people to pester to make sure it's just me with the issues).
Anyway. Twelve hours. Ouch. That's enough for now. I won't even think about all the content I should be working on now that the layout's ready... And, I almost forgot. So far it's just the one page. I need to convert the style sheet into a separate file, save a template html page, and turn the navigation sections into a javascript file... Eep. *headdesk*
